Most likely it evaporated and seeped off into space. Some folks believe some of it could be trapped underground on mars as well.

Current thinking is that Mars STILL has lots of water in the form of ice.

The most recent expeditions with the Mars rover have found much evidence of water-based erosion. There are several areas where a white 'flow' appears annually, this, too is believed to be ice.

There are planned expeditions to Mars between 2012 and 2020 which will be expected to get samples of this ice and get them back to earth. So far, unlike the moon, there have been no returning misssions from the Red Planet.

If you are able to receive the TV program 'The Sky at Night' with Patrick Moore, you will be able to keep up to date with all space exploration and missions.

So, the short answer to your question is...it is still there! (at least they think so)

Major amount is evaporated into atmosphere (due to dramatic environmental change resulting from a cosmic event) and ultimately gone into space (due to low gravitational force of Mars).
A small amount is still remaining as grpund water.
