Don't you get a headache watching TV these days? They have to show off with whizzy camera effects which are a triumph of style over content. Obviously they think we'll all lose interest if they don't zoom in and out, change speed etc. This is very annoying in cookery programmes when you barely get to see the ingredients. Even in serious interviews they whizz in and out on the interviewees hands, eyes, mouth. It drives me mad! Am I alone?

It's all because of the series 24. Ever since that was launched all the directors feel that they have to replicate to keep the audience excited. Personally I think it takes a lot away from watching comfortably.

It started about 20 years ago with a landmark Pepsi ad that really grabbed attention for it's novel camera work and quick edits. Everyone copied it and we've been stuck with this garbage ever since.

Because they want us to see as much as possible in very little time. It is like condensing a good book into a leaflet. It will ruin the story. I think they should consider the sight implications for the younger viewers.

Ouch!!!!! my neck hurts !!!!!

They do it to snaz-up otherwise deathly dull programmes. Maybe Richard and Judy should try it.
