My Mom constantly did this to me when I was in school. It drove me nuts to lose my favorite things.

Yes!!!!!! My mom was constantly going through my clothes and throwing them away.. Even some things I wanted to keep.. but since they didn't fit me anymore that meant I "had to give them away" lol

I only remember her going through my stuff and making me decide, and being really sad (to the point of crying) that they were going away. Not 'cause I was spoiled, but because they were gifts from my mom, and I always wanted to hold on to those, even from such a young age

It's funny you say that...it was always my favorite clothes that my mom would give away. But when you're a kid, you grow out of your clothes so quickly--I always found a new favorite soon. :-)

If my mom threw my clothes away, it would have been a blessing. You wouldn't believe the things I was forced to wear as a child.

I don't remember.....I don't think she ever did, but I do that to my daughter, if they don't fit, then they don't fit.
