I for one don't feel sorry for them, just for the reasons you mentioned above. I think people get too caught up with all the hype surrounding certain celebrities, and their private lives, that leads them to think that they actually know them, they know them like a friend. And of course if something bad happens to your friend then you feel bad. I think it's quite crazy, but some people just have nothing better to do than to worry about other peoples lives, especially people that they will never ever know.

I cannot feel sorry for celebs. Even when they go throw a horrible divorce. Yes it's bad, but they have money behind them and let's face it, money helps. Think of your average housewife that has to go through a divorce. She has to work 2 jobs just to pay the bills and never gets to spend time with her family. She is working so much, she doesn't have a chance to let her heart heal, unlike a celebrity. They have all the time and money they need.

Exactly! I don't get why people should feel sorry for them. Yes, they are human beings, big deal so is everyone else with problems. They wouldn't feel sorry or sympathize with us, if the roles were reversed. Save the pity and sympathy for someone who needs it. Most celebs are a bunch of whiny, overpaid, spoil kids.

I don't feel sorry for them, I loath them. They are a bunch of spoiled crybabies that can't handle success. Same goes for the superstar sports figures.

I do feel sorry for them because if my life were put under the microscope like theirs I wouldn't have any friends left.

They have no privacy...they always have cameras flashing in their faces and they're never alone. But other than that, I don't feel sorry for them, and I'm sure they don't want us feeling sorry for them.

because people like to feel sorry for others, and celebrities are people everyone knows. Plus people like to feel they are better than others, and feeling sorry for someone means you feel you are better than them.

I think it would take a great psychiatrist like Sigmund Freud to explain that one. Maybe their lives are so pathetic that they look to other people's lives for gratification.

Because their life is soooooo public. I like my privacy thank you. I was on Bozo one time though when I was a kid and the Paparazi still will not leave me alone.
