I find Aishwarya Rai’s performances melodramatic at best. Of course this is not so much a shortcoming in her personal talent as it is a problem with the Bollywood as a genre. Its seems that almost all of the acting done in Bollywood is overacting. Bollywood encourages exaggeration, and this is so unfortunate. If all the creativity that is devoted to creating elaborate sets, and lengthy musical dance sequences that are interspersed in the movie’s narrative, where instead utilized to hone the actor’s skill, Bollywood would actually churn out movies that would have such international acclaim. It’s sad that the most prolific film industry in the world, cannot produce a viable contender for “Best Foreign Film” at the Oscars ever year. Remove the overacting and the world will take you seriously. That goes for Aishwarya Rai or any other Indian actress or actor.

She WAS. I mean, when I see her earlier movies, she is sooo pretty, sooo innocent, sooo good of an actress, but in the NEW ones??!!! I don't like her, really. I think she's a bit toooo proud .... She is still good in some but not in most. I avoid watching her movies at all cost unless Shahrukh is in them.
I personally think she's in movies because of her BEAUTY and nothing else. Come on! They put her in movies because she won the '97 Miss World or something!!! And that's how many other Indian actresses are put in movies, too, so she's not alone.
Note to C-va: Yeah, I'm like totally sure she's a haughty woman. She even came on Oprah once and you could soo telll; at that time, I was actually proud of her! But then she came on some "6 minute" show, and that was when I started disliking her. My GOD! You should've seen her!!!!!!!! She was pthetic (my view). And if you all think that you get awards based on how well you act, you're not totally correct. Think again. It's obvious that her beauty plays the major role in everything she does. I miss the old Aish!!!!! :'(
But anyway, look, people.... I've asked this q a few times on y/a but no answers. Can someone PLEASE tell me the title of this song, PLEASE! "Dil ki ik khwaish hai... tum pyaar karo itna. Kiya na ho, jahaan mein kabhi, kisi ne kisi se jitna...." Who sings it, and which movie is it in? .... hehe.... sorry for asking this in here but have no other choice!

I think tha she is an amazing actress. The reasons why is because of Taal, Devdas, Dhoom II she is amazing in all of then. SHe knows how to steal the show. One of the first movies I saw of hers, Hum DIl De Chuke Sanam, I fell in love with her. When she cried or did a dramatic seen I was astounded at her natuarual talent. No actor or actress has made me feel that way about acting except for her

Aishwarya Rai behaviour, character influences lot of young Indian woman to behave badly.
Indian woman should behave according to their own religious customs. Instead many women follow Aishwarya Rai and behaviour more westernised way. This creates lots of social problems in today’s society. Before it is too late Indian woman should follow their traditional customs and behave in more appropriate manner.

No, I don't think she's a very good actress because now-a-days she's acting bery slutty in all of her movies like in Dhoom 2. I think that Rani Mukherjee is a lot better than Aishwarya in both looks and acting.

looking at the answers here.. im just wondering how would one know if she is too proud? do they know her personally? If she is too proud, how is it that she is getting so many movie contract from so many directors? Why is it that Oprah took her personal mobile number to keep up with her?

Watch Choker Bali, Raincoat, Provoked, Devdas.
These are power house performances!
Even Oprah said she loved her acting in Provoked.
The jury in Cannes Film Festival gave her an standing ovation for Provoked.

Aishwarya does superb acting, Its just that the beauty surpasses at many times and people often project on her beauty not her acting. She deserves the right to be called Queen of Bollywood.

Angelina, Charlize and Aishwarya are all appealing women human beings of their very own unique and guy or woman way. all of it boils all the way down to a count of non-public and guy or woman style. individually i admire Charlize Theron the main suitable of all. Shes this way of clearly and classically appealing woman who has a lot of sophistication and appearing skills. Charlize is a knock-out. Im prepared on hers. Very elegant and proficient woman.

I apprecite the way she acts, the way she dances and even she looks good but this doesn't means that i am a great fan of her!!!
To be frank i hate her like hell! She sux 2 da core! Her
attitude is really stupid!!!! She is an big drug addict and she has got no manners! Just bcoz she was a great actress and she got to act in english movies she can't go showing off every where like this. Even Deepal Shaw and Hrithik Roshan and many others got a chance to act in Hollywood movies but they did not show off or behave like her!!!! I like her when in movies and i like her beauty but not her behaviour!
