Depends on how old you are.

If you are relatively young (under 35) then anything up to 12 months is considered normal, providing you are having regular intercourse. If you are alittle older then it might take nature awhile longer to get a wriggle on.

Many women get suprised and/or disappointed when it doesn't happen straight away.

After about 12 months, 80% of couples will fall pregnant, so that still leaves some prefectly "normal" couples still trying.

If after 12 months you haven't become pregnant then it is recommended that you seek the assistance of a fertility specialist, who will assess your situation and take it from there. If you are already a little older (late 30's or older) then I'd probably seek help after 6 months, as time is precious at this point.

I tried for 5 years, could not get preggers. Broke up with my ex, decided to go on the pill "just in case" took it for 2 months, stopped taking it and was pregnant 2 months later.

Everyone is different, but really, 9 months of trying is nothing compared to how long some people have to wait.

Good Luck though, I wish you all the best luck in the world!!!

Every couple is different. It seems that people worry so much about whether they will be able to get pregnant. I find it surprising. Some couples try for years and have to undergo infertility testing and try to take advantage of other technological advances to conceive. Others get pregnant immediately. (I used to say I could get pregnant if he looked at me funny!) And there is a gamut in between. I think the more one stresses about it, the more difficult it may be. Unless your doctor has said there is something to worry about, just be healthy and relax. Best of luck.

Of course. After my first was born, my husband and I didn't use birth control or any other type of "family planning" method. When our eldest was 13 months, we found out I was pregnant. When our second child was 23 months, we found out I was pregnant with our third. Not everyone will get pregnant immediately. We are trying for a fourth now and so far its been 4 months.

Everyones body is different. Before i had my first daughter i had been dating my "now husband" for three 1/2 years. We werent trying to have a baby but didnt use protection during those years and i never got pregnant. So it depends on when the good lord is ready for you to be a mommy. If you are serious about getting pregnant, be patient, take care of yourself and good luck!

It took my mother 7 years to get pregnant for my sister after me. It took one of my best friends 5 years. Then there is another friend who waited a lifetime...she had her first...and only child at the age of 50...Not for want of "trying" Sometimes she would go through a "dry spell" but was never regular with birth control. In fact rarely took it. Sometimes it's just not meant to be.

It took me 5 years of trying pregnant. I gave up. One year later, I find out 3mo pregnant and I wasn't trying either.
It has a lot to do with STRESS, I think. I think I tried so hard, I strewed myself and everyone around me. It was so frustrating, and then I started walking a lot, stopped drinking soda. I changed my lifestyle a bit, and kinda gave up on it... and then here's BABY
