No. aol is not free but AIM (aol instant messanger is free)
with AIM you get..

chat
games
music
IM
message boards...
everything you nomally would getr with AOL free... but when you have the AOL installed and dialing up that costs money

you can get free aol by calling and canceling your account. they will offer you the free version that does not include tech help.

No, but if you call them and say you are going to cancel they will give you a few months for free to stay.
