Mary Wollstonecraft is considered by many to be a major influence on the suffragette movement and feminism. She lived in the late 1700s and was a radical thinker and writer. Her most famous work was 'A Vindication of the Rights of Woman,' in which she posited that women are not naturally inferior to men (which was the belief in those days), but were only lacking education. She was also the mother of Mary Shelley who wrote 'Frankenstein.' Her biography is a fascinating account of a woman whose philosophies were far ahead of her time.

The Baroness Pontabla
Not sure about the spelling, but this woman built the first apartments in America. Not only did she fund but she got in there with her hands and physically helped to build them. They still stand in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Please beware about using this one for your project though. There is something specific about her and her apartments that your professor will expect her to know. Now get to researching.
