A. There was a lot to be said for Tino's steadiness in the field and the way he meshed with the other personalities on those title teams. As much as Giambi hurts them in the field when he plays -- and I don't think he kills them out there -- he really makes up for it at the plate. Let's not forget the guy is on base more than 40 percent of the time, and he has hit 82 homers and driven in well over 200 runs the last two years. He's a big upgrade over Tino any way you look at it, except he's never hit a World Series homer comparable to Tino's Game 1 grand slam in 1998 (though Padre people swear he should have been called out on Langston's 2-2 pitch) or his Game 4 shot of Kim in 2001.
