It's given me some good answers. I'm not really here to get connected, anyway. I'm just tired but don't want to go to bed, and there's nothing watchable on t.v., and everyone I know's asleep already. I enjoy answering questions when I know the person needs an answer.

I'm not personally a big fan of looking into screens, either--it gives me a headache.

I just had to take a second to answer the guy who says there's nothing new anymore, etc, etc, not worth repeating.... Man! you just sound so bitter and I'm sorry you're so desillusioned and depressed.

Let me tell you what's new... Every single second of every single day for the rest of your life is a new starting moment and opportunity for you to start something new and for you to change your whole life if you want to. With a single thought, with a single decision, with the smallest action you could be on your way to changing anything from where it is to where you want it to be.

You were given the power to choose at any moment, any hour, any day, anything and everything you want to be.

The only problem with that is for those who CHOOSE to BELIEVE that this is not so... and after choosing THAT... wonder why they're getting what they get...

A good question would be... Why do you choose to believe negative things about that which is not yet here? What makes you believe that it must be negative instead of positive? Why are you so ready to guarantee such an outcome versus a positive? Why does one have power over the other? Well.. guess what. It doesn't.

Ask yourself what you really believe... and then see why you are where you are.

As to the question what are we doing online? And... Why do we look into a screen for so long?

I do it out of choice. I enjoy the good I find here and think that it contributes to what I've chosen as my life goals. No guilt, No BS, No trip... If you think it has some kind of negative connotation for you... it surely will! Unless of course you change your mind...

Ask yourself what you really believe... and then see why you are where you are...

I think we can be truly connected. Haven't you answered a question and been chosen best answer and thanked by the asker with them telling you that you really helped them out? If not, thats where the connection is. Its really a good feeling to know that you are helping someone else with a problem of some kind. Or, even just offering a different point of view. And, often, I learn quite a bit from reading the answers that others have offered.

Well, when you look at our lives, we do alot of pointless things. To me, anything that doesn't last is pointless. (not to say That I dont do pointless things, because I do)

We try to fill the void in our lives, and the computer is just one of many ways. while it can be a useful tool for communication, education and research, I think we would be better off without it.

Most everything people do, is meaningless. So it shouldnt suprise you that we love to stare at a screen.

"What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.

"History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!” But actually it is old; nothing is ever truly new. We don’t remember what happened in the past, and in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now.

"That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad."

because a shining screen is not what we see but maybe a 2-d shooting game or a written conversation or maybe even a steamy hot pornography that you might have trouble removing your eyes from.therefore the computer can stimulate a childs mind with simple games or a old mans mind can get aroused by seeing action that he misses getting thitry years ago maybe just most the people online are really bored and dont have much to do besides watching funny videos at a funny video website when its not all that funny but better than watching tv for 10 hours or leaving your house not really knowing leaving your house can be fun but you get drawn into your computer and would rather find something to do on yahoo rather than look for something to do off your computer-and also a computer has shiny lights and flashy animations its very fun lol

I guess we all need some form of human connection, even if it's through cables, a keyboard and computer screen. It's kinda cool to know that there's someone in the world who thinks exactly like you too. I sometimes I get on here to get a good laugh because some people just saying the most ridiculous stuff.

We are not necessarily connected but I feel 'answers' is a good way to communicate without leaving the house or without having available friends wanting to listen to you babble on...answering questions, we are all able to let some of our own problems out, so I do believe, 'answers' is actually a pretty good therapeutical tool, to make people talk, let things out, because they feel rather anonymous. This way, we can all talk, ask, read about things we mostlikely would be embarrassed to ask our regular friends and family...

I'm just looking to find out more about the general thoughts of my fellow human beings. It's really interesting what some people come up with.

It's a mode of communication with people we don't
know from Adam. It's eye-opening to see the
variety of opinions, beliefs, differences, etc. There
are some that I have no desire to be connected
with. However, that said, I've had some good
answers to my questions.
