I do not agree with gender discrimination. Let each person be known by the content of their character.

For example, it is 'gender discrimination' to force the military to accept women in combat roles. To do so, they were compelled to reduce the physical qualifications so that women could pass. That is one of the worst types of gender discrimination. Fire departments and police forces have had to make similar discriminatory accomodations.

To avoid discrimination, everyone should have to pass the same rigorous tests regardless of their gender. And, the tests should be rigorous. We only want the toughest and most agile in certain jobs.

Discrimination based on gender is illegal, but acceptable and encouraged in some cultures. Hopefully, someday in the near future, societies and their peoples will evolve enough to appreciate our differences more respectfully.

The blogbaba isn't exactly sure what you mean by "gender issues". Customs define ethics for a given society, and they differ from place to place. Certain behavior is more universally frowned upon or accepted, and different societies tend to overlap in some areas. Be more specific in your wording, and the blogbaba will be a little less politically correct with his answer.

I think gender problems exist when men feel they are inferior. If they don't feel secure about themselves and then they see that their wife is more successful and making more money than them, they feel low self esteem. The main reason I think gender issues exist is because of culture. If there is an environment where men call women derrogatory terms and no one does anything about it, it will continue.
