Can think of Bob as scoring 16/64 in an exam.
His % mark will be given by:-
16/64 x 100 = 4/ 16 x 100 = 1/4 x 100 = 25
He gave out 25% of total.

Divide 16 by 64, then multiply the decimal result by 100. That converts it to percentage form.

16/64 = 0.25 x 100 = 25%.

You can also write it as an equivalence ratio. Cross-multiply first (i.e. multiply the numerator of the first fraction by the denominator of the second and then vice versa) and set the results equal to each other. Then solve for x and express it as a percentage.

16/64 = x/100 ----> 1600 = 64x ----> 25 = x ----> 25% = x.

one way is
16 (what Bob gave) / 64 (the total # of tickets given out).

16/64 can be simplified to 1/4 when you divide the numerator and the denominator by 16.

1/4=0.25 because 0.25*4=100%.

25%.

and MathBio, 0.25*100 is not 25% but 0.25*100% IS 25%

Percent = part / whole

In this question the part is 16 tickets and the whole is 64 tickets.
so the percent is 16/64 which is 25%

64 (total) = 100%
16 ==> x
x = (16 x 100) : 64
x = 100 : 4
x = 25%
So: 16 tickets correspond to 25% do total.
