OK, I know this probably sounds crazy, but "EPISTEMOLOGY." It was hate at first sight. DRIVES ME BAT SH1T!!! OOOHHH, I HATE THAT WORD!!! It episses me off to hear it!! It SO grates on my hears!! Every time I hear that word I have to think hard if I have the definition right because what numb skull uses a longer word than the definition? Freaking people that are so smart that they turn stupid! I mean, how many people use "flocciaucinilhilification" to actually say "to set little or no value to" when they could just as easily say "devalue" or "demean" or "ignore?" It's just overintellectualified vulgarism!!! Grrrr!!!!
Now "rubric" is a word I can appreciate. It's efficient, compact, yet not too pretentious. You'd have a tough time fitting the definition of "rubric" into less than 2 syllables.

My hubby and his friend use to say Farkwad (from shrek) instead of the f word. I think I would perfer the other. For some reason it is super annoying to me.
