Writers write because they could not imagine living without writing the perfect notion. So if you are a writer, write. Productivity will get you somewhere. Then you must learn how to get published. You could read one of many books on the subject. Writers must also read voraciously to fuel their work.

If you want to be a writer, there are two things you must do. You must write. And you must read.
Writing is a craft, and like any other craft it requires dedication and practice. To be a great writer also means to be a great READER. If you don't enjoy reading, you have no business trying to be a writer. It's sort of like someone wanting to be a director but not like movies.
If you are serious about the craft, I suggest getting involve with writer forums and taking writing courses. Subscribe to magazines like Writer's Digest or The Writer that have articles on the craft. Find a mentor to read and critique your work.
And most importantly, develop a very, very thick skin. If you can't handle criticism of your work, you will not get far. The only way your work can improve is if you are open to others tearing it apart so it can be rebuilt.

Hi! I'm also interested in writing. It's one of my fav hobbies. I have written poems and notes on diverse topics.
I don't choose my topics, they themselves come to my mind.
I write about anything which influences my heart very much. Whenever my heart is affected either adversely or positively a response which comes thru it is in the form of either a poem or an essay or something like these.
It comes instantly and is spontaneous in nature. It may come to my mind even when I'm travelling, walking, eating, watching some thing or other, praying or anything else. To me it's a great gift given by the GOD. n i'm and will be always thankful to him for this and every other thing.
It helps me printing on a paper the data fed in my heart. It helps my nerves from being tensed.
Some of my poems include 'The Dilemma', 'The Helping Hand', 'Sight' ,etc. All these poems reflect the condition my heart was suffering from at a particular time.
Thru such a long lecture, I just want to make u understand that 'writing' comes automatically and has a great connection with creativity and concentration.

1. Write every day. If you don't do that, you can't call yourself a writer. You go to school every day, so you're a student. It works that way with writing too. Write about what you like, what makes you feel fulfilled, not just what sells.
2. But the real key to good writing is re-writing. Self-editing, polishing, whatever you want to call it makes your writing better than most peoples.
Don't kid yourself. Writing is hard work, and all the talent in the world doesn't mean you'll be successful. It takes hard work, discipline, and a thick skin to handle all the criticism you'll get. At times, it may not seem worth it, but all it takes is one good story that works, and all the hard work will be worthwhile. Good luck, and keep writing.

write and read regularly, you need to have a strong command with written language. keep a journal or do daily exercises. learn the elements of the craft, writing is much more than clever plot. it needs great imagery, characterization, conflict, time, etc. seek the opinions of others, especially writers. don't be intimidated by those with more experience than yourself, for they will often give the best feedback. enroll in classes, read books about writing, read about writing on the internet, go to public readings, anything. write and write and write. don't waste time dreaming, work hard and work often. learn to revise, revising often. this is where your feedback comes in handy. and finally, never get discouraged, and if you do, snap out of it quick, because it all takes a lot of hard work. good luck.

hmm.. this is kinda hard to explain, but ill do my best babe (^^,)
im a journal writer in our school, i write stories, poems, songs, and anything i want to. here's some tips for how to start writing.
gather topics and ideas, write it on a scratch,
after you figured out the scenario or the main topic of your story, proceed with the settings like the place and the characters of the story.
then start making stories about it!
on the other hand...
if it is some kind of "essay or opinion" regarding those topic, you may write what you think is ok. they cannot contest with your opinion, it is YOUR OPINION. you are just giving your own opinion. =) hope i helped even a little ^_^

if it is your dream, then you will surely have a good flow of ideas. this is an old piece of advice, but it works: carry a tiny notepad and a pen around with you. you can put down ideas wheneve you get. for full fledged writing, you need some solid time. take a break from daily hustle bustle and settle down peacefully in a tranquil environment and start writing. the environment should trigger ideas, a resourceful environment it should be. all the best!

Learn about everything you can - become an expert at as many things as you can outside of the field of writing - any circumstances, facts, events can help you make up a plan of something unique to write - keep notes -
