Yes you can hook up the hard drive from one computer to new. Its easy just open the computer, unplug the drive and plug it in another computer, Its thats simple just set those jumpers to slave as written on the hard drive but if you are hooking the win98 drive in winxp it will work fine winxp will be the main operating system and you can see that drive in windows explorer but if you are hooking the winxp drive in win98 you wont be able to see it until you format unless its fat32 format, just search for ntfs reader in google.com if winxp is in ntfs format.. about memry go to download.com and search for memory you will get many results with the discription written with them, download one (freeware will be better) and your problem is solved most probably

Yes, you can definitely attach the hard drive from the other system. Even new motherboards still have at least one ATA channel for hooking up older drives (newer drives are SATA). Once it is connected, you will probably want to format the drive (i.e. wipe it clean so it can be used for storage) - go to My Computer - right click on the new drive and select Format.

Keep in mind that adding a hard drive will not get you additional memory, but additional storage space. Memory is entirely separate, and has more to do with the speed of your computer with multiple programs open, rather than how much you can store on it.
