I dont know why people keep scaring grade 10 students who are expected to give their board exams.
As long as you keep your cool and maintain confidence in yourself you should do great. :)
Further more here are few tips which could prove to be helpful:
1) revise what has been taught to you during the day at home.
2) keep finishing little by little portion, do not keep anything for the last minute to study
3) while revising, make small notes or you can use highlighters to highlight important points you come across when you read through your books.
4) prepare question papers, or even better gather past question papers from your seniors and keep solving them( this way you get an idea of the type of questions which usually come)
5) do not let any doubts remain uncleared, clear them out with your teachers immediately.
6) when the exams are round the corner, do not get worried or tensed, remain calm as you have already prepared earlier, just revise all the chapters or answers which you feel are important.
7) during an exam, read the question paper given to you very carefully.Understand each question and make a mental note of the answer.
8) make sure your handwritting is neat and can be read easily.
9) last but not the least, have faith in yourself and in your Prayer.
All the very best for your exams. You'll be fine. :)

If you are under the CBSE board, then you could use the following books:- 1. Maths:- Dr. R.D. Sharma's book 2.Science:- biology, physics and chemistry books authored by Lakhmir Singh and Manjit Kaur(S.Chand's publication). For IIT preparation you could join a reputed institution like FIITJEE. Remain focussed right from the beginning. All the very best to you.

Simple man..Read the text book of yours like a story book. Then write all the things important according to you in a book. Then go through the papers of last years board exams & learn all the q's which u find common in all the papers..Best of luck..I am in 12th. And one last advice..dont waste "time"...

U shld go through the refreshers in case of Science
In case of Mathematics u shld practice hard.
U shld go thru the sample papers and ten yrs. to get some help regarding important Q's which occur frequently.
U shld make everything understandable and avoid making 'ratta'.
In case of English and Hindi u shld go thru the whole stories and poems so as to make them understandable to urself n try to do practice in case of grammar part.
In case of Social u shld learn ur main pts. n just read the details so as to get a full knldge. of what u have to write. U can learn ur main pts. by sum funny tricks like remembering the first letter of each pt. and making a word by joining all these letters or just make ur own short creative story, etc. to get them remember easily.
Always try to take some healthy diet while studying and sit in a correct posture so as to avoid any uninvited body pain.
Always remember GOD when u feel exhausted.
Wish u a very best of luck.
May God help u getting good marks!
