Charging a phone battery when it's half will affect the battery since it can be only charged so many times, but by the time the number of charges runs out, you'll likely have a new phone.

The other possibility that could occur is if you consistently re-charge when the battery is half full, the battery will, after time, "remember" to work only until the half-way point.

Putting a battery in the fridge or freezer does not help either recharge or prolong battery life. In fact, it actually reduces the life of the battery.

as for the cell phone, i don't think you would see a difference (but I haven't tried it, so don't rely on me) because the chagre controller SHOULD stop the gharger from dispensing any power when the power is full.
As for putting a battery in the freezer, it would gain a LITTLE charge, but not enough to render it usable for most elctronics
