They have alot of young talent and they were over .500 for the 2nd half of the season last year. Is this the year that they finally win more games than they lose??

I think the Bucs have finally gotten over the tough times (and very long tough times). They have a good young pitching staff that only fairs to get better with an extra years experience under their belts. They also have the left handed power bat they have been looking for since moving into PNC Park (Adam Laroche). No regular player is over 30 years old and are in the prime of their baseball lives. The long wait to respectability is finally over I think. This is a good young club that will be good for quite a long time!

Until Management decides they will spend a few bucks for a few big name free agents...its too difficult to build a winning team withought spending some cash and only relying on the farm system. They now have a few young good bats in the lineup...but getting a top pitcher will be a challenge.

I would not place any money on them this year breaking the .500 barrier, although I think that the change in regime in the front office will start to pay off in the near future, they have restructured the entire scouting department and have put more emphasis on building a better tema rather than trying to over spend on washed up talent hoping to squeeze one more good season out of a guy that only had one good season.

its sad 2 say but i think the pirates,s 14 year losing streak will continue.lets face it they dnt have the pitching, they dnt have enough big bats in the line up and its not gonna b magic all of a sudden that they,ll b the detroit tigers of 2007.

i honestly dont think so. there are many teams that are getting stronger out there like the San Diego Padres and the New York Yankees among others. i think that the pirates need more veterans in their team i do admit they have many good young players but that wont take them to the World Series alone.

They have become a much better team but they can't win because there are too many better teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Cardinals, etc.

Not this year...Wait a few years for the young guys to mature...Still need pitching...Although they have a future stud in the minors: Andrew McCutchen.

Much as I like them I know they'll do this season just like the past 14. They'll play just good enough to make you think they can play better.

they will probably finish with a record of 81-81 but they are still not good enought to make to the playoffs, but they are not the far away.
