Sorry apple, but textedit is not a word processor. I can't believe what a ripoff. I won't be buying a new computer from Mac.

They are Unfortunately getting into the 'Add-On' market!!
Which is a Shame!

Windows computers don't really come with a Word processor either, unless you think WordPad is considered one. Most computers that come with Microsoft Word are usually just trial versions that will run out after 3 months. Microsoft Office which contains Word costs over $100.

You can pick up iWork for $80 which is similar to the basic Microsoft Office, or you can find a Mac version of Microsoft Office.

Also, you can't buy a computer from Mac, but you can buy a Mac computer from Apple.

The new Macs come with all Microsoft software, including Word.

Mine did (macbook), purchased in July.

most computers these days don't come with word processors. Get open office it is free and much better than most word processors.

Actually they do, they're just trial versions. Try this freeware if you can't afford M$ Office or iWorks http://www.neooffice.org/

no computer does. u pay for them in the total package if you want them.
