This may sound kinda sad but when my dad was alive I really never noticed he was there. We didn't have a strong relationship. He passed away in 2000 and I really miss him. Seems like I notice him not being there more than I ever noticed him there when he was alive. So for me it is true that you don't miss it till its gone.

It is so very true, we have a tendency to take things and people for granted. Your whole life can change in a minute. We seem to think things and people are going to be here forever. Its not, sooner or later you will loose someone that meant the world to you and may not even realize it till their gone. So never take anyone for granted, enjoy them and tell them you love them while you have the chance.

Unfortunately, that's true. People take what they have for granted. And when it's gone, that's when they realize what they had.

Yep.
We're so blind and so involved in ourselves and everything that goes on in the big, wide world.
We don't REALLY see them untill they are walking away, then you're looking at the wrong end.
