yup. why is this in "celebrities" section?
my dad does it, and my husband does it. it failed to reach my brother though. he might do it for his wife, but it gets slammed on everyone else (except for grandma, she'd hit him with her cane).

Women gave that up when they burned their bra's.
There are way to many women who deserve no respect. In order to be respect you have to earn it.
Women have gone way to far. It's like men and women are changing roles.
Men are being feminized.
Why aren't men standing up and acting like they are the man.
Women need to be a little discrete and men will then start showing some respect for them.

I think people should open doors for others in general. If we are all going through a door and I go first, it is common courtesy (I think) that I should hold the door for everyone until there is a break in my group and then the next person should hold the door for their group and so on.
Also, doors should be held for the very young, the very old, fragile people, handicapped people and people with their hands full.
I think that about covers it! :)

I think it's nice for anyone to hold a door open for a person coming in behind them. It annoys me when my husband or another man dashes in front of me to open a door. I can do it myself. I'm not a 3-year-old.

yes. This and all other classic thoughtful things men do for women should be done. It shows that you care enough to do whatever it takes to make her happy. Even if it seems cheesy and oldschool.

I appreciate it. I especially appreciate it when I have my arms full of stuff, or when the door is really heavy,
I say thank you when they do it, too.

Its polite. Screw all that crap about women whining because they shouldn't be treated differently. I don't know why they can't just accept it and move on.
