They are my favorite team in baseball, and sadly, I have to say no.....at least not this year. Somewhere in the future, there is a bright light shining upon the Royals, just not now.

All i have say is wow. It may take 10 years until the Royals will be able to make the playoffs let alone the World Series. They have been under .500 for I don't even know how long, they have no pitching, they blew over 30 games last year, they have two decent players: Mike Sweeny and Reggie Sanders- (If he's even still on the team), and I wouldn't say Buddy Bell is an ideal manager either. Sorry but it will probably be another 27 years until the Royals "make" it to the world series.- (referring to the 1980 Phillies + Royals World Series)

Baseball continues to be a large market sport and if you dont have the cash to spend or not willing to spend it, the Royals will not only not get ot the WS anytime soon, but will not have a winning record for awhile. You can only build so much of a team through the farm system, but it takes money to fill in the holes to create a winning team and the Royals are no longer playing the game. The rich get richer...

Not this year. Their first step will be to try to get even close to a .500 record which I think is pretty much out of the question. Although they should be much better than last year (100 loses), it will take time for them to gel as a team and get the right pieces to the puzzle. They did make a lot of changes, but then again they needed to in order to avoid another 100 loss season. Maybe in a few years they can continue to improve and be in the playoffs (3-4 years).

Someday the Royals will win the World Series but not this year. There are gaps to be filled in key positions but they will surpise a few teams

Not this year...
Give them about 2 years to be a serious contender. Offensive Studs in the making: Mark Teahen, Ryan Shealy, Alex Gordon (One of the best offensive prospect in all of baseball) and Bily Butler. The only thing that will hold them back is pitching.

No. i think that over the time they build a stronger team but for the next 3 or 5 years i highly doubt it. you can never leave any team out of it though.

Yes they will. Just not this year.
I do see them becoming contenders in about 3-4 years time,
especially with Dayton Moore at the helm.
