I will be back with her in a couple of days. She has dieted and lost some weight. But I haven't seen her and I don't just want to ask what size she wears. How do I buy clothes for her? Or lingerie?

Why dont you just take her on a shopping spree? Let her choose her own and try it on while she is there. She would also enjoy spending the time with you.

OK -- first of all, how long has it been since you've seen her, ie how long has she been dieting? Is there anyone you know of that has seen her recently that could give you a clue? If not, you could probably estimate depending on how long she's been dieting and what size she was before --- lingerie is easier to buy than regular clothes because it comes in Sm, M, L, XL so the measurements don't need to be as precise. Just remember to buy it a size or two larger than you think it should be -- lingerie tends to run small -- for instance, I wear a size 5 in clothes but size M and sometimes even L in lingerie, depending on the cut and style. And besides, there's nothing worse than having a husband or boyfriend buy you lingerie and having it be too small! Also, make sure you purchase it at a store that's local to her in case she needs to return or exchange it.
Another really neat idea for a gift --- especially an anniversary gift -- is to get one of those fancy sensual baskets filled with body butter, aromatherapy bath crystals, bathing gel, fancy soaps, candles -- perhaps a crystal goblet and small bottle of champagne for her to enjoy as she relaxes in her bath -- you know, all the things a lady loves -- and then sit back and enjoy!

How about something stretchy...One size fits all? Worth a try. Good luck, but you can't go wrong if you purchased a nice watch or bracelet.

Try sending her a pajama gram. Sizes for pajamas are forgiving and it being over sized just makes them a bit more comfortable.
