My friend likes to drum his fingers when he's trying to think of something. I guess its a way to avoid using the "um's....." and the fiddling with the fingers. Its just a method some people use because they find it easier to remember or just say what they want to say because it keeps the mind stimulated and busy.

Maybe that where our brain is. Probable a nerves habit. I never gave it much thought, but I do that myself.
