What I want to do is buy an oversize sweatshirt from the guys' section at Walmart, take it to a crafty friend, and have her transform it into a dress. I've seen plenty of "hoodie dresses" online, but they appear to have been made with sweatshirt fabric, not actaully deconstructed. So I'm not sure if it's as good idea as I think it is. I looked online to see if any other people had actually done it before and I couldn't find any pictures representing my idea.

I think that many of those you've seen actually have come from one or more sweatshirts... some people have gotten into this a lot and are selling their creations.

One really good place to find out about this and other "altered clothing" is some of the clothing boards at "Craftster" (it's free, but in order to ask questions as well as reading all the info, you'll need to join)
