Write your Congressman, and then encourage others to do the same. Make sure you emphasize any displeasure. Other than running for office--it's the easiest thing to do.
Posting questions as such does much good, but it's not as fruitful.
For those of you that are about to get a lesson in how our Budget is Governed by the Congress, based on what is proposed by the White House--watch and learn how the Democrats demonstrate the purpose of our legislature and the actions they take to prevent a failed policy. Wow are you gonna be p'od!!

Democratic Senators and Congressmen are the only hope to stop the big budget for security claimed by President Bush. There should be budget increases in other sectors to be taken from the security budget.

Write your Senator, let them know that you are watching and you are a voter. If you can get enough people to write letters they will hold Bush in check for his final two years. Do the same thing with your Representative. Congress is the only way to stop the president at this time. They do have the power to do it. But they have got to know that you want to, especially if your Representative is a repuglican.

i easily did protest whilst Bush replaced into spending like loopy on Iraq for starters and the version is why did you all wait till we had a Democratic President to worry protesting? a minimum of Obama is putting the money into america and not a distant places u . s ., regardless of the actuality that it relatively is a huge type of money to spend, I accept as true with that. Protest now all you opt for for, it relatively is a unfastened u . s ., besides the undeniable fact that it would not shop you all from looking like entire hypocrites.

You need to read our Constitution. All spending bills shall be started in the House of Representatives.
The president tells congress what he wants but only the congress can authorize spending.
You don't like his budget? Talk to your Representative in the House.

That's easy. Vote for somebody else in 2008.
Also, you need to actually look at the budget and not make guesses based on the reporting of it. You are far from the truth.

Thank you, Frann B.!!! I'm glad someone is calling him on it. As far as spending is concerned, Bush is the most liberal president we have ever had. This now recovered alcoholic has now become addicted to spending your money.
I'm sure somebody will say something like, "Bush doesn't control spending, Congress does." That's true, but Bush has veto powers.
I am extremely fiscally conservative. I never voted for Bush, but he has been extremely, extremely disappointing in this aspect.

I think Ruth hit it right on--I agree with her 100%! And Rosey--Bush did get voted in both times! The judges didn't give Bush the presidency, they kept Gore from getting it illegally! I say that if we don't have the money to fight terrorism, let's just give up now and invite the terrorists to the US!

Bush doesn't spend the money. Congress does.
Take it up with your boys who just took over the House and Senate.

Bush just allows the spending by signing the bills that originate in the House of representatives. It is Congress that is spending our money like drunken sailors. Bush suggests spending, and yes it is out of control, but it is Congress who writes the spending bills they pass. Bush should use his veto pen, and you should figure out how or government works.
