My vote would go for Janis Joplin ... she was an absolute legend with an incredible voice and ability to perform. She died far too early ...
Tina Turner would have to rank right up there too, just for staying power on the charts.

Sigh. There is no Queen of Rock and Roll. Queens are for pop music. That's the domain of women. In rock, it's the man's job to make the music, and it's the women's job to stand near the stage and shake their tail feathers.

I can't think of anyone (female) that can live up to that title. There are several good female rock artists however I dont' know who should be labeled as the "Queen of Rock and Roll"
