Cookie Monster.........

Health content has existed on Sesame Street for years, but to a limited extent. In one instance press kits for a project were made available, news wires latched onto the story, and literally hundreds of newspapers touted that Cookie Monster was "going on a diet". In actuality there was no change to Cookie's character. The new season featured a new segment with rapper Wyclef Jean singing the praises of fruits and vegetables, similar to the 1990s segment "Healthy Food", with a rapping Cookie Monster backed by a healthy food chorus.

Don't know about the Bert and Ernie thing but I do know they had Cookie Monster learn that "cookie is a sometimes food" and that he should eat healthy stuff more often. That was quite a while ago...

Bert and Ernie have been sharing a bedroom for years, but since it has been determined that puppets don't have genitalia, it doesn't really matter that they've been bedroom buddies. Besides, Bert has never been interested in sex anyway and Ernie has this thing about rubber duckies.

As for the "Cookie Monster", he's trying to change his image a little. His puppet doctor has informed him that his cholesterol level is too high and he needs to watch his diet. He's seriously considering changing his name to "Oatmeal Monster".

The one to watch is "Big Bird". He's just signed a multi-million dollar deal with Anheiser Busch to be their new spokesperson. Look for him on a commercial on next year's Superbowl. He's going to be "Big Bud".

And I'm not even going to get into that story about Elmo....

What??? My son watches Sesame Street EVERY morning... Ernie is still part of the show, and Cookie Monster is still eating cookies... why would a cookie monster eat vegetables?? Then he'd be a "vegetable monster," but that's not his name... his name is COOKIE monster... geez... where have you heard this?
