Are there any restrictions to get onto American Idol? I was thinking of going on it. Do I have to be a certain age? I know I definitely have to be a good singer. I'm a pretty fair singer. I can sing "Born in the U.S.A., Eye of the tiger, and Livin' La Vida Loca.

Well, you have to be living in America at time of audition and age 16-28. You can sing whatever you want, but before you can audition in front of the judges you do these preliminary rounds that cut most of the so-so and bad people out. Good luck if you try next year! Keep practicing!

The auditions are over for this season. I think the age limit is 28. If your a good singer and meet the age requirement you should try out next season.

the main requirment is that you have to be between the ages of 16-29. then when u watch american idol depending in what state u live in try to find the nearest location of an audition if you think u hav what it takes to become an american idol

I think u will qualify just fine.if u can sing like that hispanic singer who sings livin la vida loca(ricky martin) then u got it made,lots luck.

the auditions are over for thyis season you have to be 16yrs.-28yrs but u can audittion for americas got talent if u do hurry im pretty sure audittions end March 26th
