Can he be a threat like he was a few years ago or will he be injury prone again?

Do you think that Gagne or Otsuka should be the closer for Texas?

Once an injury for a pitcher...almost always an injury for a pitcher. Gagne sure used to be a great closer, but his injury will linger for longer than expected (Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, the list goes on). Lets not forget that Otsuka had a great season last year as a closer with 32 saves and I think only 4 blown saves. Couple that with the talent he has now with the Rangers and I can see Otsuka doing much better than Gagne this season and should be the closer for the Rangers.

Gagne certainly deserves the first shot, he has the "stuff" and "speed" to be the top closer in the league as he proved a couple years back. It is his spot to lose.

Last year this was the million dollar question, and now it is getting a little less attention, but in many ways is still equally important. For his sake and the Rangers' I hope he has the fire again (Even though I'm an Astros fan ;))

Gagne should be the closer, but just like pitching in Colorado, Texas is a hitters ballpark, so I don't think he'll be as good of a closer as he was when he won the Cy Young for the Dodgers, but will be a solid closer, just his stats won't be as good as they used to

Gage will have a very rough start to the season because he has not pitched for a while. If Texas remains patient, he will probably pick it up and have a very good stretch run. He should be the closer because he had shown consistency (200 some- odd saves in a row!!!!!)

Gagne will blow out his arm and ride the pine. The good news is he will still get paid to ride the pine. Way to go!!!

He will have a tough time because he hasn't pitched in a little over a year due to injury and he is pitching in the American League which has a DH.

I love him for what he did with my Dodgers but... Gagne is done. RIP. We let him go for a reason.
