I can't decide whether to see Pan's Labyrinth. On the one hand, it looks like a great fantasy movie, along the lines of MirrorMask, which I really liked (I actually think I first heard about it on a MirrorMask forum). On the other hand, I really can't stand gore (Sleepy Hollow made me feel squemish). So would this movie be too gory for me? Or is the gore brief, and the rest of the movie worth it?

It's a well made film with very imaginative images. But is also very VERY violent. I am not squeamish, and even I squirmed a few times. It gave my friend nightmares.

If you think you could handle just squeezing your eyes shut every time the Captain is on screen, then maybe you could get by...

If you were squeamish in Sleepy Hollow (the one with Johnny Depp right?) you shouldn't see this movie. Although i haven't seen it yet (i really want to) i hear it's a fabulous movie. I haven't had the time to go see it but i know it's a pretty gory movie. If you think you can get past those gory scenes then you should definitely go watch it. Or maybe bring someone with you and ask them to tell you what you miss when you cover your eyes.

Yes you should see it. It was a fantastic movie! After I saw it I was kind of like "ehh" but then after I thought about it more and more I realized how good it was. I can't handle gore either but I'm used to covering my eyes when I can tell it's coming. The gore in this is brief here and there and you'll know when it's about to happen so you can cover your eyes too.
