Windows Vista is still a new operating system, which means there are not that many supported products. You could try downloading the latest version of AVG, but McAfee's suite is pretty good(i don't want to sound like advertising but it's so far caught 3 trojan horses).

Right now I am fighting a big battle with AVG because I cannot delete their "free" edition from my computer. Subsequently I bought PC Tools. The AVG is going to be only free for one month now and as of tomorrow, people will have to start paying for AVG. I paid for it but it messed up my computer so now I am trying to get my money back from them.

Not sure if it's compatible yet, I believe it is, I remember seeing something like that on the site, but Avast! antivirus, which is supposed to be right up there with the heavy hitters, sounds like your best bet. For optimum protection, though, you might want to buy a system so that you have customer service. I'd recommend Mcafee for that. :)

Avast is free, and it supports 64bit. AVG Free 7.1 version is already discontinued on 18th of Feb 2007. Download the latest version.

Like dj_j65 says, get avast. But uninstall AVG first.

i just purchased a new computer with vista and the tech installed norton security and webroot spysweeper. seems to be working. he did say that it really needed strong security or something like that. don't know if that was true but i am having no problems. knock on wood.
