Not sure if this applies or not ... but I put down 5/16th oak plank and had the option to glue or nail down. I couldn't find the nail gun at a rental place, but I could have bought it for ~150 bucks. Instead, I opted to a $80 bucket of glue.

After 12 hours of laying flooring, I was almost done, and out of glue. Nothing was open except Walmart, so I picked up some different "flooring adhesive" that said it was OK for wood floors. Well, that morning, all the new glue section was cupped and had to be ripped out and redone. So I spend another 80 bucks on glue.

Long story short, if you have the option to nail down, do so. The glue is hard to use, messy, and in my case, cost more.

Good luck
