i dont think it's a motherboard problem. u can restore u'r system to an earlier time when it was good. but one thing i've noticed that ie 7 has a great interface but it's too damn slow. even sometime it makes all internet connected programs slow. u can uninstall it and try ie 6. or restore u'r computer.
hope that help
good luck

Before you go out and replace anything, try a different web browser, like Firefox or Opera.<(alot faster than IE). IF those both hang, then you know its not just a software program. Next, I would suggest running an anti virus program or an online virus detector (like In Trend Micro's House call or Bitdefender.com)

Which messenger program are you using? Try a different messenger program as well to sort out what may be the problem before spending a dime on un needed repairs.

do you have a restore system, if you are running windows, go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, restore. that will give you a calendar and all you have to do is pick your date and follow the instructions and it will restore your computer to the way it was on that date. Remember anything you added since that date will be lost.
