well my best friend melissa is 6months pregnat and last night her boyfriend was drunk and raped her infront of her 2twins taylor and jack age 5.she said she can't feel the babys head and she can't oford to go to the hospital.i'm barely training to be a docter and i just got that job offer today.what should i do?oh and her husband ran away and she tryed to call the police but they can't find him.what can i do to help her and her kids?

i tryed taking her to the hospital but they told me that if she dosen't have paper work (shes an immigrant from china)she can't get medical help.also if she dosen;'t have insurance.california sucks!

just to let you know,her parents are dead.her whole family is dead.her husband and her cousin were the only ones there for her.and her cousin is in college and can't take the kid.

The first thing to do is dial 911, so they can take her to the emergency room, do a rape kit to prove that she was raped and to take care of her and her unborn child. I think you can take care of her children, and call her parents to assist with her medical care.
I don't think from your message that you are "barely training" to be a doctor. But I do think you can help out by babysitting until your friend is well enough to come home. Make sure the police are involved so that the abusive father cannot come and take the other children in their mother's absence.

1st.Get her to the nearest ER as soon as possible. They'll check her out for injuries and also make sure the baby is OK. Most ERs charge on a sliding scale, so they should make it affordable for her.
2nd. Make sure that she and her kids have a safe place to go. The safest place would probably be a womens' shelter, but if there isn't one nearby, offer let her stay at your place or put them up in a hotel under a different name. (just in case BF/husband's looking for her.)
3. Report the rapist. Call the police again about the husband. BE PERSISTANT!
4. Call an abuse survivor's advocacy group. They can probably help her and her kids better than you can (no offense!)
5. Make sure she gets into counseling.
6. Make sure the twins get into therapy,too. They witnessed this. They are probably traumatized, and, being 5 years old, they don't know what to do.

Take her to a crisis center or ER IMMEDIATELY! Offer to sit with her twins while she does this. All you can really do to honestly help your friend is to continually reassure her that you are and will always be there for her in her time of need. This is the s**t that makes me sick to my stomache about guys. He does NOT deserve to be apart of this baby's life and if she did finally reach an agreement between the two of them..the relationship wouldn't be a healthy one per the child. This child has sufferred enough. So, please make the move for her and call 911 TODAY! This guy needs to get into an anger-management course and she should take out a restraining order on him IMMEDIATELY if not sooner (which would have NO COST to her if you tell them the situation with her being pregnant and having no money! But the longer you both wait to do something, the more belittled this case will become! This little creep has committed an act of assault on a pregnant female, and if she loses this baby, he is looking at jail-time where he and all others like him need to be until they rot in hell!

sounds like this is not the first time being violent to her. If she cant afford to go to a Doc then she should stop having kids and work on getting her life together. This may sound rude but the best thing you could do for her is to get the divorce paper work going for her and help her get a job with health insurance. You sure are making alot of excuses for her. I mean so what her family is dead and so on she needs to grow up she has children and a family of her own to think about. To many people spend to much time feeling sorry for themselves because of what they don't have when if they would focus on what they do have maybe their life would be better. If all else fails then boat her back to china! Our tax dollars should not have to support her kids or her.

Get that woman to the hospital NOW!!!!! WHAT the hell is the matter with you??? Just because she doesn't have insurance doesn't mean she can't be seen! No medical facility can turn a person away because of inability to pay!
BTW, she should NOT be able to feel the baby's head at six months. She's still 12-13 weeks away from her delivery date. The baby should be fine, but just to be sure, she sould definitely get medical care.

Call a Family Violence Center. There should be one listed in the phone book under domestic violence. Or call the police department for a recommendation. Take her to a hospital to get her checked out. Doesn't she have a OB-Gyn? Get her to some kind of clinic-money or not-they have to treat for an emergency. I wish you and her the very best.

If she can't afford to go to the hospital then how was she planning on giving birth to the baby to begin with? If the babys not moving then she needs to see a doctor, pronto. Usually rape doesn't kill babys, but the stress of it might have.
Drive her to a different state. Hey you said you wanted to help!
I know cali sucks for hospitals. If you call 911 though they can't refuse her because its life threatining.

This is a joke.
First of all ANY person legal and illegal can get emergency medical care at any hospital emergency room. In which they would be stabilized and transported to a state run hospital for further care if she needed to be hospitalized. This is called a tax write-off.
So after your elaborate "story" where is she going to have the baby? It has to come out? And if it has died it really needs to come out? I think you need to revise your B.S. story.
