im not able to connect to limewire because it says my firewall is up, so i disabled windows firewall and still no luck. i was told it might be a third party firewall but i already disabled my antivirus firewall so can someone pleases tell me whats goin on.

Yes! My trick worked, now im gonna totally track down your IP and hack your comp.

But seriously, disabling a firewall doesnt open up your ports, you have to go into your firewalls and configure them to give access to limewire.

If you have Norton.....eww.....

Go to control panel> security center to see if windows thinks you have a firewall turned on. If so, find it. If not, try the website listed below.

Either you are not connecting or your firewall is screwing up. Norton is notorious for doing this! Or your lime wire program might have been corrupted by your firewall or your anti-virus.. I have seen both.

even i've faced same kinda problem... my limewire was runnin, n due to sudden power cut, my comp got restarted. now, something happened to limewire n it went disconnected. i tried the forced connection option, but didnt work out. i re-installed limewire, but even that didnt work... finally, i restored my os to a point created before installing limewire, n then installed limewire again. n it's working fine now...

i think u have to press the "connent" button to connect (unless u have the mind reading PCs that wud do it for you automatically)
