No. They already franchised samuel, a good move seeing as we dont know if he can repeat last years dominating performance, and hobbs did a good job overall. Our secondary problems are with the safeties not the corners. What the pats need are wide receivers and a new linebacking corp. Bruschi and Vrabel are getting old leaving colvin as the starter who will be good for the next few years. Spend the money of baltimore's thomas is what i would do.

The Patriots should focus on resigning Asante Samuel to a long term deal since he is franchised for this year. Then if they can't resign him go after Nate Clements because based on their draft position a quality corner won't be around. Samuel is familiar with New England and the defense and would be the guy to keep. Clements had a good year in a contract year but is not what I would consider a shut-down corner.

pat's and signing clements almost killed them to franchise samuels
hate to say itr but clements will be sporting a nice red and gold jersey come next year

yeah im a pats fan from la, yea they should. if samuel or hobbs gets ingured during the regular season, then they're pass coverage defense won't collapse
