His or her poop is brownish green is small but I'm not sure what species it is. I got it at Wal Mart and its extremly fat. I dont feed him alot and it was kinda big when I got it. It looks like his poop is a long fiber.

Sounds like you over fed it. Or it's pregnant and leaking eggs? I have never bred gold fish so I can't help with that. I do know that my goldfish, when up agains a light background, I can see when she is full.

Also that's indicated by your fish's exsessive pooping and not eating. If you have been feeding a lot, do not feed the next day or two. Your fish will not die. After that , give him defrosted frozen shelled peas. This is fiber and will clean up his system and prevent constipation. Then, go back to regular food and don't feed more in a feeding than you fish eats in 5 minutes.

More details would be nice, like the color of the poop, and the last time you fed, what kind of food you feed and how much you fed and how big your goldfish is, and what breed.

First of all if it isn't eating It probably isnt pregnant. A swollen abdomen especialy in gold fish can mean a few different things.

Abdominal swelling is not a disease - but a clinical sign of several possible health problems. Because an internal disorder is involved, in most cases it isn't possible to say what the problem was until a post mortem is carried out. The most common causes are:

A genetic disorder that usually shows as the fish grows older. In the early stages this seems to cause little discomfort for the fish and it will lead a normal life for some time - often several years.

A tumour or growth. The only option in this situation is surgery, which clearly requires professional help. However, the survival rate of such procedures is very low as this is still very much an experimental procedure.

Systemic bacterial infection, which is usually accompanied by raised scales, protruding eyeballs and sometimes reddening / inflammation on the body. If caught early enough this may respond to a course of antibiotic injections. Bath treatments are rarely successful See bacterial infections

Viral diseases: Much the same signs as bacterial infections but no cure

Internal organ disease - such as heart problems- leading to an accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity. This leads to a balloon-shaped swelling and the abdomen feels very soft and sqidgy - unlike a tumour which tends to feel hard. No cures, and heart transplants are just not on.

Intestinal blockage / constipation: This is more usually associated with loss of equilibrium, but in some severe cases it can lead to swelling. The only possible treatment is either try to feed the fish a few frozen peas, which act as a laxative, or else try baths in Epsom salts (70g / litre for 5 minutes) which has the same effect. If the condition is advanced, the success rate is likely to be poor

Could indicate intestinal parasites. Making wet mounts of faeces for microscopic examination may assist diagnosis.

Dropsy (swollen ab sometimes lifting of scales) is more of a sympton than an actually disease yet, and is quite common. Most associated with a bacterial infection (cause could be wide - poor water conditions are often the culprit. Meds can be used, but dont always work. Treat fish with: Sulfa 4 TMP -or- Gentamycin -or- Oxolinic Acid.

Be sure to check your water quality. This will stave off many fish diseases.

However without more info, it is rough to tell. Is your fish swimming ok? he could be constapated. Just because a fish poops doesn't mean it doesn't have blockage. Try to get him to eat a couple of peas. Don't worry, the peas won't hurt your fish even if he isn't constapated.

Phenol and Ammonia toxicity can cause hemorrhages. Bacterial diseases like Furunculosis and Fibriosis also can lead to hemorrhages Sometimes what you see as being black in the ab area is actually blood. For toxicity (poisoning) change the water several times. For Furunculosis or Fibriosis, treat with Furazolidone Powder

Light or dark cysts appear on the organs Encapsulated worm larvae or sporozoan and tubercular cysts can be involved For worm larvae, treat with: Praziquantel. For tubercular cysts, treat with: Isoniazid + Kanamycin + Vitamin B-6. For sporozoan cysts, there is no suitable treatment known

After the side of the body is lifted up, you can see how the turgid anterior gut has displaced the liver to the side The fish has intestinal blockage. You can see undigested food in the intestine Treat with: Paracide-X. Feed the fish with vitamin enriched foods. Do not feed any pellet types of food. ( Green peas will also work)

I am sorry I could not be more specific, however I cannot see your fish. You will have to determine his exact simptoms. Good luck.

Your goldfish is not pregnant. It is bloated. Don't feed it for a few days. Make sure to keep the tank water clean.
