We have a mini Walmart in our house so he doesn't need anymore toys. He gets new clothes just about every month and I hate getting clothes for kids because they don't care anyways. He has tons of books. And he already has a power wheels. His bday is next month and we have no clue what to get him! What do you think?

A flashlight! 2 year olds are amazed by lights and colors. Get him a flashlight and several sheets of tissue paper that are cut into shapes. Glue that tissue paper onto popsicle sticks, then you can hold them infront of the flashlight and have a shadow puppet show. They love it! They can also use it when they go to bed at night.

Relax. You are creating more problems with the child by your reaction than by the gifts. If you think he has too much to play with, you are probably right. A two-year-old is not really capable of understanding the concept of birthday at that age, anyway. It is the parents' party at that age, not the kid's.
Don't overburden the kid's attention span at that age with more than one or two bigger gifts. They just can't divide their attention with many gifts.
At that age, a party is lots of colorful food--candy and cake, lots of edible goodies, balloons and paper wrapping, and his favorite kid foods--nothing wrong with a hot dog or hamburger and a soft drink, if he is properly supervised.
IF you are inviting other little kids over, it is OK if they are the same age. But little kids don't understand "sharing" of toys yet. Don't have many kids older than he is. Invite the mothers to share some coffee and adult food as well, and make it a family thing. If you have some of the parents' relatives, that is OK, but don't have them trying to out-do each other with the gifts.
A good friend of mine just had a wonderful party for EIGHT little girls. Ages about four years old. I asked how they kept them all occupied. She said they had all the kids come to a costume party...but the kids came as they usually dressed, but had some very simple clothing to create their own costumes ("capes" and "crowns" and "plastic royalty symbols , plastic ears and noses and whiskers for "face painting", and just used their imagination; and they "made" their own cakes--(sprinkled lots of little candy pieces on top of cupcakes, with M&M's and various colored cookies . They chose their own combinations of ice cream colors and flavors--and generally made a mess, but had a ball ! They ALL blew out a candle on their cupcake, and sang and just sat down and created their own fun for an hour.
I don't know how much of this applies to your child. Two is still very young. But use your own ingenuity to MAKE THE PARTY THE GIFT.
Good luck.

When I ran into this problem I gave mine money and took them shopping. It's hard trying to get them something when they have everything. Hard for me to think of anything. If he doesn't have a pony and you have room get him a pony..But they only care about those for a few months...
Good Luck

Musical toy. But more musical than a toy. It's always a good time to look for musical skills.

start a savings account for him. then when a birthday or holiday comes around, spend a little money on "things" and put more in the saving account, and when he graduates high school or gets married (whichever you choose) give him the passbook.
