Lubrication on condoms is on the business end. On the inside there is on some brands a spermicidal gelly at the tip. This is in case of breakage there is still some form of protection from pregnancy.

The reason there is not lubrication on the base is because condoms must stay on by use of friction between latex and the penis. If there was too much lubrication the condom could slide down the penis and expose both participants to Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) which is a large part of the purpose of condoms in the first place. There can be some amount of lubrication between the penis and the condom, but because of the user error and possible costly mistakes. . . .condom makers like to have protection from litigation (he he he he) and thus do not lubricate the base of the condoms. . . .

Think about how you put on a condom . . . .the outside touches the inside when rolled down. Thus lubricant at the tip on the outside. . . dry or spermicide on the inside of the tip. . .

Be-careful about using oil based lubricants (ie Vaseline, Crisco oil, Olive oil. . .) because it will break down the latex as will many soaps and lotions. always use lubricants specifically designed for use with condoms.

All over the outside.

Inside is a different story. The better condoms out there are lubricated near the tip and are pretty much dry at the base.

The reson for this is because you don't want to get the tip of your charlie brown 'burnt' from all the friction. And you don't want the condom slipping off you from the bottom.

It depends completely upon what your both planning to perform. Nothing inside if you're planing on vaginal sex. A small amount of Astroglide inside the condom works well if you're planing protected oral sex from from your partner. This gives the male a much more natural feeling when the partner doesn't particularly care for surprises.
