we have a neighbor that we suspect that has been stealing and going through our mailand packages. Although we have no solid types of proof or evidence theres still the case of my missing packages and their ''eagerness'' to meet the mail man before the rest of the neighbors. what can we do????

Go to the USPS website. You can report suspected mail theft to the Postal Inspection Service online. Mail tampering is a federal offense.

The first thing I would do would be get a locked container and then to speak to the mailman and tell him of your concerns. Ask him to ensure that any mail for you be deposited into a locked container. If this doesn't work then contact the Post Office and let them know what you are fearing.
If these ideas don't work you can always contact the local police or the USPS Office of Inspector General http://www.uspsoig.gov/whodoestwhat.htm for help.

set up a video camera in a hidden location. Make it where you can see their faces real good and notify your local post master. They too can assist. make sure you tell them you are filming you mail box. they could have a better way of catching them.

Get a PO Box or have your stuff sent to work. If they're stealing it, they will definately notice when it doesn't arrive.
