Red is the main one. Bright yellow is pretty bad also, although any really bright colour can be a problem.
This all goes back to Grand Prix racing in Europe before and just after WWII. Cars weren't allowed to have advertising on them, and the team's country of origin denoted the colour the car had to be painted. English teams had to have green cars (hence the term "British Racing Green".) American teams had white, Belgian teams were yellow, Germany was silver (the famous "Silver Arrows")...you get the idea. Back in this era, the teams to beat were Maserati, Alfa Romeo (Enzo Ferrari used to drive for this team), and later the Ferrari team itself. Since Italy's colour was red, these ultra-fast (for their day) cars were always painted red. Even now, any Ferrari being raced by an Italian team will always be painted red. Anyway, people (including cops) began to associate red cars with high speeds. To make matters worse, for a while, most manufacturers in the world would paint their current sports model red. Since the people who like to buy and drive a sports model seem to have a habit of breaking the speed limit...I'm sure you get the picture now.

No, they don't ticket by colour. If they did, I would have a passle of tickets, because I drive a red 2-door car with a spoiler. I haven't had a ticket since 1995, and that was the only one since 1985. My boss drove a red car for many years as well without tickets. Why? Because we drive in such a way as to not call attention to ourselves. If the colour theory was true, we could find a colour that would let us speed without tickets, which would be absolutely ridiculous. And red cars are not more expensive to insure! I am an insurance broker, and I can tell you the colour doesn't matter to the insurance, only the registration.

Yes. Red and sometimes yellow. Buy a red Corvette or other sports car and you'll get used to seeing blue lights in your rearview mirror.

red because they're commonly known as racecars, and cops watch you closer to moniter your behavior, because if you know that and you have a red car, you might try to speed
