We do it so that we will feel like part of the Borg collective obviously! We do not want to feel alone, nor do we want to be the only one standing up for a principle. Hopefully as we grow older we will develop more courage to stand up as an individual, and more wisdom to know that we are not the only one who wants to stand up for principle sake.

Conformity is necessary in order to survive. And contrary to some belief, EVERYBODY CONFORMS in some way.
Even the gothic kids at my school who all dress the same and wear the same hairstyles and listen to the same music but call themselves non-conformists:)

If I say Yes (or No), then I'm conforming (one way, or the other). If I say nothing, then I'm not answering your question (and staying silent is in itself a form of conformity), so I'm damned if I do, and I'm damned if I don't.

We do because we get used to seeing it -- so in a way, yes, it is conformatism (real word, or not?). It's usually not a conscious thing, but it's not really worth being conscious, because everyone else is doing.

simple, we do it because we feel that we should do it. but the reason why we should do it will be vary. it can be cuz everyone do it, just like u said, or it can be another....
