NASA has Moon and Mars in it's mind and plannings.
New space ship is still under designed.
The moon exploration included landing and building a colony. This time to going to stay.

NASA mostly isn't--not by choice; they can't get funding. there is a "new" launch system being developed, but its essentially just a modified version of existing technology.

But there are advanced technologies out there--ones we know will work, for various applications. But they need a lot of development. Some are being built--and tested--by private companies. Ohthers are there, but not that much is being done right now. Here's some examples of each:
Under development:
>Suborbital/small orbital spacecraft--including "Spaceship One" (by Scaled Composites/Virgin Galactic) and other versions by several companies including Planetspace and Blue Origin.
>Reusable booster rockets (The SpaceX Falcon 1 is due to be tested next month)
>Low cost orbiting habitats (Bigelow Aerospace) Currently a test prototype (Genesis 1) is in orbit.
>Space elevator (VERY early research)--Check out the X-Prise site--I think they've got good stuff on this.
Posssibilities:
Advanced "SSTO" (Single-stage-to-orbit) spacecraft using ultralight materials and high-efficiency engines. These are possible, but far too expensive for privat industry to develop it--and Congress has twice cut funding for promising programs (the "Delta Clipper" and "Venturestar")
>For travel in space (beyond orbit)--a lot of possibilities. Two tat have had successful experimental versions tested (on earth, not in space, but enough to know they work) are nucleaar powered rockets and solar powered rockets. Both technologies use the power to heat liquid hydrogen to very high temperatures--and are much more efficient engines, though not suitable for use in earth-to-orbit vehicles
>"Scramjets" this is a special type of jet engine that can work at extremely high speeds--and could eventually be used to eliminate the need for all those huge booster rockets (especially if used with the "SSTO" technology.

Check out these sites: nasa.gov and space.com Both are great--and reliable (no conspiracy nut stuff).

THERE IS NO NEED TO FIND NEW TECHNOLOGIES.....MOST OF THE QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED IN HOLY QURAN.....YOU READ THE BOOK AND DECIDE YOURSELF.......OR ASK ANY ACHOLER..
