In the time of the troubles when Protestants from Northern Ireland were mad at the catholics in the Republic of Ireland their where a lot of gangs. now that the troubles are over there aren't as amny gangs. There may be a couple but in most places in Dublin there are a lot of cops out at night to make sure they do nothing. Don't worry.

Yes, there are gangs. Like everywhere they are fueled by drugs and drug money. Violence is there stock in trade, it really began to be a noticeable problem for the average tourist about 10 years ago.

You think Dublin and Ireland are different than the rest of the world?
