i need to do this so i can run xp on my computer

You don't have to uninstall Norton to run XP.

On the bottom right, in the system tray, you should have an icon for Norton. If you right-click on it you will see an option to "disable." You can temporarily disable it in order to install something.

When you are finished, be sure to enable Norton and run a full scan - preferably in Safe Mode.

Norton is a mess.Never wants to uninstall,never wants to work properly.Always screws up my computer

the above answer is correct. I have had to do that myself i found it was a lot of stuffing around. Not the biggest fan of norton products there days. Much happy with another brand of internet security product now.

I have same problem but mine is Mcafee it wont uninstall i switched to Norton but i still got Mcafee on here too whats worse Mcafee still sending me a bill........Dam good question when you fiqure it out let me know

Go to Nortons website, they have a removel tool.
