First of all, I don't know what klsks is talking about. I have used my Hollywood Video membership at more than one store.
Personally, I like both. Blockbuster is a little more expensive, so I have been going to Hollywood Video lately. Plus, they have a better selection and the new releases are ALWAYS there. I have gone to Blockbuster so many times and came home with nothing because they didn't have the movie I wanted. Hollywood Video also has a lot of rent one get one free coupons, which is good. And there is something you can join where you get free rentals. So, I like Hollywood Video a little better, but I go to both.

I go with Blockbuster, simply because of their on line service. Also there are 5 with-in 6 miles of my house, and only one Hollywood. Also BB has more videos, and especially games than Hollywood. At least where I'm at.

Yeah I have an account at hollywood video and the movies cost about $3.99 a movie for 5 days, but they also have alot of coupons buy one get one movie free alot, also I went to another store by my house cause I have three stores in 20 minute range and one cost only like $3.00 dollars so I think it costs less at each store, but hollywood video does charge late fees if its late you have to pay the price you rented the video for. I think blockbusters doesn't do that anymore, they dont have late fees but will send you a notice in the mail, and have offers like for a month you can rent movies $2.99 or something like that but there are exclusions hope this helps.

blockbuster - because hollywood video won't let you use your membership card at different stores. you can only use it at the store youopened our membership. and blockbuster doesn't charge late fees, just $1.25 for a reshelving fee, and even then it's only after like a week overdue. and if you go past 30 days you just buy the video. hollywood charges you a new rental fee each cycle it's late.

I think it depends on who works at your local store. they are comparable for choice, so the key is if the person behind the counter can help you find what you want, or can make recommendations, and that depends on the local store.
my local video store is terrific because they know their movies!

Blockbuster Online is great. Cheap and very convenient.
