I received an email on my space that was very awkward. It said to tell this certain person hi. (that person is my wife lets call her L) for our protection. He remembers her from the bar with her cousin which they got kicked out of. Well first of my wife drinks very little and the only night she ever went out was with my sister. At first he wanted to know if L was my sister and to tell her he wanted to go out with her. I dont even look at my space my wife does. She seen it and told me about it and wrote him back and told him that it was my wife and do not know who you are. About 2 weeks later I received an e-mail to my personel account which only family and friends have. It was very personal and this person knew that I had moved, my work schedule and even the names of my dogs. How can I find out who this is? I have the email address. I have tried all the free online reverse email searches that I could find. It tells me no such address. What do I do?

Find Sender’s Internet Provider to Report Abuse

First, in Yahoo Mail, Options, General Preferences, scroll down and set your option to display full headers. Lots of information will appear at the top of your e-mail including the sender’s IP.

Go to http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html
- enter the IP address of the sender -- to learn the provider. To report abuse, notify the administrator of the provider.

What I do: carefully select the full header and message (don't click on anything) and copy, then go to compose, and paste in the message box. Send the message to:

abuse@3k.com
mail-spoof@cc.yahoo.inc.com
abuse@umich.edu
reportphishing@antiphishing.org
abuse@ftc.gov
abuse@outblaze.com

You're only recourse is the abuser's internet provider as someone already posted how to find out what this is. The police will not get involved unless this person is showing stalker behavior as they are too busy to go after internet abuse offenders. However it sounds like you have a case - this person seems to be showing stalker tendencies, and it wouldn't hurt to go to both their internet provider and a policeman in your local department to find out what recourse you have. If nothing else, if he lives in your town, or another town, the police can get together to talk to the guy to back off and explain what a stalker is, and that his behavior is indicative of this and that's where their concern is and they don't want to see anyone get hurt. If it continues, and the internet provider doesn't stop the abuser you have the right to get a lawyer and sue them for not stopping the abuse and causing your family to live in fear.

I hope things work out - good luck.

You can find maximum the IP of his provider. To get more informations you havce to go to the police and file an complaint about this person. If the person breaks the law then the police will react. They can ask then the provider to find the Addresse of the bad person.

If I were you I would contact the police immediately & tell them if they can't help you or tell you someone that will, you'll go to the next level. That's harassement if not stalking

It's probably someone close to the family harrassing you. I would take the emails to the police.
