I was in bed. My mom called at about 2 AM, don't remember why exactly she called, but my contractions started while I was on the phone with her. Didn't know it was contractions. Spent the next 6 hours trying to poop. Woke my fiance up at 8 AM, because he was supposed to go out of town that day. He was in the process of joining the Navy. Dropped him off at the recruiting office. Drove to my mom's. More contractions. Still didn't believe I was in labor. Drove back to the recruiting office to fill out some papers. Told my fiance I was pretty sure I was in labor. Drove back to my mom's. Fiance showed up, decided he didn't want to go that day, because he thought the baby was coming. Fiance & Mom finally convinced my to go to the hospital. Decided I needed to go to my house to change my underwear (trying to procrastinate) Spent 45 minutes at my house, finding things to do to keep from going to the hospital. Finally got to the hospital at 11:15 AM. They told me I was 4 cm. dialated. I was shocked, because I thought it was false labor. Got my epidural at about 2:30 PM. They broke my water at about 3:30 PM. Nothing.....nothing...... Started feeling like I needed to push at about 7:00 PM. They wouldn't let me push because I wasn't fully dialated. At about 7:20 PM started pushing anyways, because I couldn't resist the urge. Doctor came in at 7:40 PM, drinking a cup of coffee. Nurse told him to get ready. He said he guaranteed he had enough time to finish the coffee. Looked over at me. Set his (unfinished) coffee down. Sat down in front of me. And barely caught my daughter at 7:46 PM.

With my first daughter, I was in labor for 24 hours. 12 of it was irregular contractions, then 12 hours of pretty painful, regular contractions. I had a water birth and that was soooo nice. That baby had the biggest cheeks!

My second daughter was born two days after my first daughter's second birthday. So, my daughter turned 2, then the next day she and I both got the stomach flu, it was the worst case EVER! Luckily I happened to have a checkup scheduled that day so I had an IV put in because I was so dehydrated. I wasn't sure if I could even make it to the doctor though. Unfortunately, the stomach flu put me in labor. So the next morning at around 6 am I started having contractions. My baby was born at 11 am. Later that day my husband got the same awful stomach flu and had to go to the emergency room. So we were both in the hospital. My baby was fine, but everything else was pretty rotten. Oh well, I guess it makes a good story!

With my son, I was taking a nice, relaxing bath, when my water suddenly broke. Very convenient place for that to happen. I was in labor for the next 28 hours with bad contractions, a fever, and an infection. Never in my life have I cursed so much and yelled so loud. My parents looked at me like "Who is this monster and what has she done with our daughter?" (I was a single mom at the time with no partner). Six hours into my labor, I was given Demerol to knock me out for some much needed sleep. I caved into the epidural after 12 hours, and was given meds for the fever and infection. I almost had to have a C-section, but I protested, and my doctor said to give me more time. Finally, after all that trouble and 20 minutes of pushing, my 9 lb son was born. I hope I don't have all that trouble again when I have my daughter in a few weeks. Well, at least I have a hubby this time around.

I was at my mothers house and we called my doctor about my contractions because we were scheduled to have a C-Section (My son was breach the whole darn time...lol), really not funny...at the time, I was on ADP(Aid To Dependent Children) because of my husbands abusive language and fists. The doctor ignored me for about 4 to 5 hours until my mother explained to him about the C-Section part, he proceded to tell my mother to bring me RIGHT IN NOW....GO FIGURE....my contractions were the most horrific pain I been through, (except after my son was born and the pregnant lady nurse was pushing on my STAPLED belly to get the aftermath out!) As we pulled up to the emergency room, one of the nurses came with a wheelchair and literally ran my 180? lb frame of mine up ramps (she HAD to only be about 110lbs 5'0") I promise...around corners & into an elevator when then I suddendly felt a VERY WARM & THICK LIQUID GETTING MY WHOLE BODY WET!!! I thought I was bleeding to death, I was so scared. Needless to say, everyone clamed me down a little and told me that, that was normal. (I guess I did'nt watch the films, huh? lol....) The doctor tried & tried to turn Brandon around so I could have a normal delivery, but come to find out, he was just as STUBBORN AS IS MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I got staples (I did not know if he was a girl or boy yet). But he is my miracle from up above..there is NO other way to explain how a woman can have a breathing little beautiful baby come out of her belly....He will be 24 on April 13th. He was born on a Wednesday, Thank You God, My Lord Jesus Christ.....AMEN...p.s. he still is as stubborn as I am, ha ha.....I wouldn't change a thing. I would do all over again, just for my Brandon.....

My first child was a C-section. The second one I wanted to try 'natural'. The doc told me (the day before) that nothing was dilating, that I had to have another C-sec. The day after that I went into labor. My then husband did not believe me (I wasn't sure either since the first one was induced). 3 hours after the onset my water broke, and we drove to the hospital..I walked in, checking in, telling them at that time my contractions were 3 minutes apart...my doc arrived and before seeing me still told my family, no way (cause nothing had happend the day before)...my daughter was born without medication on my part, 2 pushes and 40 minutes later!!!

First time, went into labor in the middle of the night and endured 27 hours of labor before my first son was born.

Second time my water broke when I was sweeping my kitchen floor...labor only lasted 2 hours.

Third time I had a scheduled cesarean because I was pregnant with twins.

Well I was at home asleep. the pains started at like 6 or 7 that morning.
I was having small pains all week which the doctor said were braxton hicks contractions so I wasnt Immedeatly alarmed.
until about 3 or 4 hours later the pains got worse so I went in to the hospital where they said I was half way dialated then my water broke after they told me that.
So they put me in a room (btw, my mom was there with me)
and my husband arrived. then like another hour later I had my daughter. :) :)
the pain wasnt all that bad it was just uncomfortable for me.
hope that was your "fun" :)

Both times I was home, and nothing dramatic happened. First time, the contractions woke me up early in the morning, and my daughter was delivered about 12 hours later. With my son, I noticed mild contractions all day long, finally went to hospital in the evening, and he was born a little after midnight.

I was at home. I had just woken up and I felt absolutey nauseous. I hadn't felt that way since the morning sickness months before. A couple of hours later, I felt the pain and we went to the hospital. No hollywood stories here.

With child number three I was at home feeding the kids dinner and doing laundry. I had just brought a basket of laundry into the living room from the kitchen to fold and I felt a soft pop like air leaking out of a balloon and realized my water had broken. That had never happened naturally before so it took me a couple seconds to realize what had happened. I called my husband, he was out of town, to come and get me it was time to have the baby. Then I realized that my sister in law wasnt there and that she wanted to be there for the delivery so we raced all over town trying to find her. We found her about 45minutes to an hour later. The whole time I was racing around town knocking on her friends doors, I was leaking. It was pretty absurd. Then we drove to the hospital. After we got checked in and they checked my progress they gave me Stadol. I guess Stadol makes me hallucinate because I was hallucinating in 3D and I knew it. My husband and his sister would leave the room and I would be carrying on conversations with them because I wouldn't realize they were gone. They would come back in and talk to me and I wouldn't hear them. My husbands parents were working out of town so all during the pushing part of my labor, I kept telling my husband call your mom! have you called your mom? You need to call your mom! Why arent you calling your mom? He would answer me but I never heard him. Then during the pushing part after the head came out as I was pushing out the shoulders I was so loopy I screamed at the doctor "Don't pull on my baby" it was just him sliding out but that is not what it felt like. Then I just dozed off. I dont remember even seeing the doctor who actually delivered the baby. Ever. I couldnt tell you to this day what his name was or maybe it was a woman... We were at a new hospital and I hadnt transfered to a new OB so it was just whomever was on call I guess.
