The easiest way to figure out how bad the damage is , is to remove and cut open the oil filter. cut open the filter and remove about 1/3 the material. wrap with a rag and squeeze out the oil. Use a magnet and figure out how much Ferris and non-Ferris material you have (steel and copper/brass/alum). Not to much point going deeper if your don't have the ability to rebuild the engine. Yes can be a piston pin/bushing, rod bearing, bent rod, scored cylinder, or even a dusted engine (dirt that has been going down the intake) causing a piston slap. For the cost of about $8.00 you will have your answer. If no metal the greater chance it is piston slap.

Yup,sounds like you've got a connecting rod bearing on the way out.Keep driving it and you'll throw a piston rod thru the block.

This is an easy answer. You need 3 things:1 (one) gallon of gasoline,1(one) book of matches, and full insurance coverage.Take the gallon of gasoline and pour on the crappy Ford, take 1 (one) match, light it and throw it at aforementioned Ford product and run.

sounds like a connecting rod, you wont see where the noise is coming from until its to late an it puts a hole in something, it also could be coming from a loose or worn out harmonic balancer.
